I have always loved to learn. When I look back on my life, creativity has been a common thread. I do a lot of crocheting. I make all types of jewelry and French beaded flowers. I started sewing when I was 10 years old and have been crafting ever since. Eventually I stumbled upon a candle making kit. To my surprise, candle making was much more than pouring melted wax into a jar. There is pour time and burn time and cure time, all of which left me feeling like a scientist in my kitchen. Given candles and fragrances have always affected my breathing and have given me headaches, I was determined to create something I could enjoy. For this reason, I created Zen Kat to produce non-toxic soaps and candles that everyone can enjoy without fear of harmful reaction. I hope you love them just as much as I do!

Ever since I was a little girl, I have always wanted to help others around me. I have been drawn to make a positive impact and help those in need. Into adulthood, my husband and I rescued greyhounds and many other little creatures that crossed our path. If I had one wish it would be to eradicate the hunger and suffering of all living things...this is my passion. No one, human or animal should ever have to go hungry when resources are so abundant. When I set out on this new journey with Zen Kat, I decided two things. First, I would make products as affordable as possible. Second, I would donate a portion of my profits to help fight hunger, whether it is giving to a local animal rescue or food pantry. Every little bit counts and I pledge to do my part.
