JEWELRY

Did you know that jewelry is one of the oldest types of archaeological artifacts?  The earliest known jewelry was created by Neanderthals in Europe, perforated beads made from small shells dating back 115,000 years ago.  Jewelry as endured for thousands of years and has provided  insights into how ancient cultures worked.

Jewelry has been worn as personal adornment and as a status symbol.  It has been used for it's material properties of healing, protection and meaningful symbols.

Some were made of simple stones, bones or shells, while others used precious metals & gemstones.

Jewelry or the beads have been used for currency or to trade goods.

Some geometric meanings:

  Circle - eternity, life, wholeness

   Triangle - manifestation, enlightenment

   Square - stability, confidence, security

   Hexagon - regularity, perfection

It's amazing to think that these beautiful gemstones come from our Mother Earth, that she could create such works of art.  And most amazing is that it has taken a lot of them millions of years to form into those stones.

Most of us wear jewelry now because it's pretty and we feel good when we wear it.  But just maybe, it's a part of who we are.  And this is how we honor our past and the earth that created these beautiful stones.

There are so many techniques in jewelry making - bead weaving, metal work, pearl knotting.  And beads galore!!  I use gemstones, some gemstone simulants, pearls, and of course glass, acrylic and wooden beads.  I love working with Czech glass beads.  These are hand made in the Czech Republic and come in so many colors, shapes and designs.

I'm constantly working on new designs so please check back occasionally to see what new & exciting designs I have come up with.

I'm always looking for the unique type beads and nothing is mass produced.

I have a lot more pieces than shown on the website.  If you are interested in seeing more of my designs or what I may have, you can contact me or plan on visiting one of the craft shows coming in 2026.   I'll keep posting any new shows I may add for this year. I will be continually adding new pieces throughout the year.

Necklaces soon to be added.  I'm busy working at the moment on new pieces for the new year.
